Huge Thanks and Photos from Carmargue
Just when you thought memories of the great time we had at Avalon were beginning to fade – up we pop with some reminders of just how much fun was had by all. Enjoy!
As well as the photos – being uploaded this morning – , I’d like to give huge hugs and a big thank you to every single attendee. You were, to a person, absolutely brilliant, masses of fun, extremely polite, warm and friendly – everything I’ve come to expect from Richard’s and Amanda’s fans and supporters of Stargate SG-1 in general. Both Rick and Amanda were blown away by your kindness, generosity and sense of humour. The GABIT team and I really appreciate the efforts YOU made to make the event run smoothly and give Rick and Amanda a fan experience they will never forget.
Thank you, too, for all the feedback we’ve received. It has been incredibly helpful, and for the most part, overwhelmingly positive. All comments regarding our slight hiccoughs and suggestions on how we could make a future event even better are being taken on board eg we received one message, from a lady who wasn’t lucky enough to get a ticket to the event, saying that the fact we advertised just five wheelchair places may have prevented some permanent wheelchair users from applying for tickets. That was never our intention and I’d like to offer my sincere apologies to anyone who may have felt that way. We did, of course, try to find a way round anything that might have placed limitations on any attendee with special needs. Your feedback tells us we did a great job. Again, mucho kudos to everyone for being so accommodating and working with us to eliminate any obstacles.
So, congratulations on making Richard’s first fan event such a success; for making Amanda even more aware of how great her fans are; for raising almost £17,000 for three extremely worthy causes and for giving the team at Carmargue and GABIT many happy memories. Bless you!
